Warranty Terms & Privacy

Exactly what your warranty covers, how to make a claim, and how we look after your personal information.

Part 1

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Last updated:

These terms apply to warranty and service plans arranged through Auto Atlantic. Please read them alongside your plan confirmation, which sets out your vehicle, cover level, cover period and price.

In short: every plan includes a full service to keep your car healthy. Warranty extension is available for cars sourced through Auto Atlantic. Cover runs for the months or kilometres shown on your plan — whichever comes first. Always contact us before any repair so we can authorise the work.

Overview & eligibility

What's covered

Your plan confirmation states whether you hold Standard or Comprehensive cover.

Standard (powertrain) covers mechanical failure of the major driveline components, typically including the engine's internal parts, gearbox and transmission, clutch assembly, drive shafts and CV joints, turbocharger, and the fuel and cooling systems.

Comprehensive includes everything in Standard, plus items such as the electrics, ECU and sensors, air conditioning, steering and power steering, suspension components, the braking system (non-wear parts), and electric windows, locking and wipers. For hybrid and electric vehicles, the high-voltage drive battery is covered under Comprehensive only.

The precise list of covered components for your plan is set out in your confirmation and takes precedence over the summary above.

What's not covered

Like all warranties, cover does not extend to everything. The following are generally excluded:

A per-claim limit applies, and the total of all claims will not exceed the market value of the vehicle at the time of the claim. Your confirmation sets out the applicable limits.

Service condition

Keep your car serviced. A full service is included with every plan, and keeping the vehicle serviced at the recommended intervals is a condition of warranty cover. Please keep your service records — we may ask to see them if you make a claim.

How to make a claim

  1. If the fault makes the car unsafe to drive, stop and don't risk further damage.
  2. Contact us before any repair — call +353 89 40 500 20 or email us. This is important: work carried out without authorisation may not be covered.
  3. Tell us what's happening, and have your plan details and registration to hand.
  4. We'll authorise the diagnosis and, where the fault is covered, the repair — at an approved garage, or ours.
  5. We settle the covered repair directly with the garage wherever possible, so you're not out of pocket for the covered amount.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Auto Atlantic collects when you request a warranty, service or other help, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. For the purposes of data protection law, Auto Atlantic is the data controller.

What we collect

  • Contact details — your name, phone number and email address.
  • Vehicle details — registration, make and model, year, mileage, fuel type and the price you paid.
  • Location — your town, county and Eircode, used to price collection & return.
  • Plan & service information — the cover, services and dates you choose, and your NCT and warranty renewal dates.
  • Anything you tell us — messages, photos or details you send about your car or an issue.
  • Technical data — basic analytics about how the site is used (see Cookies below).

How we use it

  • To prepare your estimate and confirm a final price after inspection.
  • To deliver the warranty, servicing and add-ons you request.
  • To send you the warranty-renewal and NCT reminders you opt in to — and only those you opt in to.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide after-sales support.
  • To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.

Legal bases

  • Consent — for reminder emails and any marketing; you can withdraw this at any time.
  • Performance of a contract — to provide the warranty and services you ask for.
  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and run our business, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation — where we're required to keep records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed to provide our services — for example with garages or partners carrying out work on your car, an NCT test centre, a warranty administrator or underwriter where one is involved, and trusted service providers who help us operate (such as email, messaging and analytics providers). These providers act on our instructions and are bound to protect your data. Where any provider is outside the EEA, we put appropriate safeguards in place.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations. Enquiry and customer records are generally retained for up to six years in line with Irish tax and limitation requirements, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised. If you opt out of reminders or marketing, we stop that use straight away.

Your rights

Under data protection law you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.

Complaints: if you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can contact us first, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland) at dataprotection.ie.

Cookies, security & contact

Our site uses a small number of cookies, including analytics (such as Google) to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your data secure, and we may update this policy from time to time — the "last updated" date above will change when we do.

Contact us about anything in this policy by email at or by phone on +353 89 40 500 20. Post: Auto Atlantic, 15 Lake Crescent, Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
